Welcome to the Library!

Free Your Mind! Read!

Let me introduce myself.  My name is Terri Gaussoin.  I work as the teacher librarian at the Janet Kahn School of Integrated Arts.  This is the start of my 31st year as an educator.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education at New Mexico State University (Go Aggies!) and my master's degree in Education through the University of New Mexico (Go Lobos!)  Since then I've worked as an elementary teacher, reading support teacher, adjunct faculty at UNM - Gallup, elementary instructional coach, and of course - librarian!  Can you guess which is my absolute favorite position?  If you said "librarian" you win!

This begins my tenth year at JKSIA instructing students in library media skills.  As my students learn and read in the library, I work each day to help them gain critical thinking skills, improve literacy, and of course, develop a love of books!

So welcome, welcome!  Come in and stay awhile - I'm glad you are here!
