Welcome to the Music Room!

Music at JKSIA is a place where students learn through playing and doing. Students experience music concepts through singing games, folk dances, hands-on activities, and playing classroom instruments such as: maracas, hand drums, barred instruments, tambourines, and other unpitched percussion. Our students gain beat keeping skills, singing skills, learn how to read, perform, and create rhythms and melodies (with new rhythms and melodies being introduced each year from 1st grade to 6th grade), play different types of music, and appreciate different types of music.
